I Got Scammed on Cash App and the Company Refused to Help. My Bank Saved Me.

I paid $150 to someone on Cash App for concert tickets. The tickets never came. The seller stopped responding. I contacted Cash App support. They said that since I had authorized the payment, they could not reverse it.

Cash App has no purchase protection. If you authorize a payment, it is gone. The only exception is if your account was hacked. A simple scam is not covered.

I then contacted my bank and filed a dispute. My bank asked for the receipt, the conversation with the seller proving the scam, and proof that I contacted Cash App. I provided all of this. The bank reversed the charge within a week.

Cash App is great for sending money to friends. But never use it to pay strangers for goods or services. Use a credit card or PayPal Goods and Services instead.
