EA Rejected My Refund for a Buggy Game. I Got My Money Back After 2 Months.

I bought EA Sports FC 24 for $69.99 on PC. The game had a game-breaking bug that prevented online matches from loading. EA's support said I had played 4 hours so I was not eligible for a refund. I explained that most of those 4 hours were spent trying to get the game to work.

EA's refund policy states that you can refund a game within 24 hours of first launch or within 14 days of purchase, whichever is sooner. I was past the 24-hour mark because I had launched the game multiple times trying to fix it.

I escalated to a supervisor and cited EA's own policy about defective products. The supervisor said no. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. EA responded to the BBB complaint and offered a one-time exception refund.

The whole process took two months. But I got my $69.99 back.
