eBay Buyer Wouldn't Refund Me. Here's How eBay Stepped In.

I bought a "brand new, sealed" iPhone on eBay for $650. What arrived was clearly used. Scratched screen, lint in the charging port, battery health at 87%. The seller refused to refund me.

The seller had 99% positive feedback. The listing said "Brand new, sealed in box." What I received was in a third-party box with a generic cable.

I contacted the seller with photos. The seller denied everything and accused me of trying to scam them. I opened an eBay case.

eBay's Money Back Guarantee covers items "not as described." I uploaded 18 photos: scratches, battery health, non-Apple box, missing accessories. Plus screenshots of the listing.

eBay ruled in my favor within three days. Full refund of $650 including shipping. They provided a prepaid return label.

What surprised me was the speed. But my evidence was clear and the listing was misleading.

Tips: always pay with PayPal or credit card (higher priority). Open the case within 30 days of delivery. Be ruthless with evidence.
