How to Write a Kickstarter Refund Request When a Project Never Delivers

Kickstarter does not guarantee refunds. But I got my money back from a failed project. Here is how. First, check if the creator has posted updates. If they have been silent for months, you have grounds. Contact Kickstarter trust and safety and explain that the creator has abandoned the project. Kickstarter may investigate and, in some cases, suspend the creator's account and facilitate refunds. If Kickstarter will not help, contact your payment method. I backed a $200 project that never delivered. I filed a dispute with my credit card company under the Fair Credit Billing Act. I explained that I paid for a product that was never delivered and the merchant had abandoned the project. My credit card company approved the chargeback. Kickstarter may ban your account for filing a chargeback, but getting your money back is worth more than a Kickstarter account you may never use again.
