My Refund Email Was a Restaurant Menu. The 'Refund Special' Got Me $80 Back.
I formatted my refund email as a restaurant menu. "THE REFUND MENU - Today's Specials: Appetizer: $30 shipping fee charged incorrectly. Main Course: $50 product never arrived. Dessert: My patience running thin. Chef's Recommendation: Full refund of $80. Would you like to add a side of apology to that?" The company replied: "We would like to order the Chef's Recommendation. Full refund processed. Please accept our apologies on the house." I got my $80 back the same day. The support agent told me it was the most entertaining ticket they had handled all month. Sometimes treating a refund request like a creative writing exercise makes the agent want to help you. They get to approve funny refunds and tell their coworkers about it.
