I Offered the Company a Coupon for My Own Refund. They Laughed and Refunded Me.
A small business refused my $75 refund. I tried everything. Finally, I offered them a coupon: "Dear [Business], I understand you do not want to refund my money. How about a compromise? I will give you a coupon for 50% off my future business if you refund me now. This is a limited time offer. Valid for the next 24 hours." The owner emailed back: "This is the funniest refund request I have ever received. I am refunding your money just because of the creativity. Please do not actually give me a coupon." Sometimes when you turn the tables and offer the company a deal, they appreciate the humor and flexibility. This only works with small businesses, not corporations with rigid policies.
