I Drew a Picture for My Refund Request. The Company Framed It and Refunded Me.

A customer support agent sees hundreds of emails a day. I wanted mine to stand out. So I drew a crayon picture of what happened. A stick figure (me) looking sad next to a broken delivery box. I scanned it and attached it to my refund email. The subject was: "A visual representation of my disappointment (with crayons)" The company replied: "This is the best attachment we have received all year. Please accept our sincere apologies and a full refund. We are printing this for our office wall." I got my $120 back. The agent told me later that my email was shared across their entire team. Sometimes being creative and memorable gets better results than being angry or formal. Agents are human. They like to help people who make their day less monotonous.
