Airline Compensation Email Template That Got Me 600 Euros from Lufthansa
EU Regulation 261/2004 gives you strong rights. But airlines ignore most claims. This email template got Lufthansa to pay me 600 euros after they rejected me twice.
Subject: EC261 Compensation Claim - Flight #[Number] on [Date]
Body: Dear Lufthansa Customer Relations, I am writing to claim compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004 for flight [Number] from [City] to [City] on [Date]. My flight was [cancelled/delayed by X hours]. Under Article [5/6/7] of the regulation, I am entitled to [250/400/600] euros in compensation. The reason provided was [weather/technical/operational]. Please note that [operational/technical] issues are not considered extraordinary circumstances under the regulation. I request payment within the statutory period. If I do not receive a satisfactory response within 4 weeks, I will file a complaint with the national enforcement body and may pursue legal action.
This template works because it cites specific articles of the regulation. Airlines process thousands of claims. The ones with proper legal citations get prioritized over generic complaints.
