The AT&T Billing Dispute Email That Got Me $180 Back
AT&T added unauthorized charges to my bill for three months. This email got me a full refund of $180 after their phone support failed.
Subject: Billing Dispute - Unauthorized Charges - Account #[Number]
Body: Dear AT&T Billing Department, I am writing to dispute several charges on my account that I did not authorize. On my bills dated [Dates], I was charged $[Amount] for [Services] that I never ordered. I called customer service on [Date] and was told the charges would be removed, but they remained on my next bill. Under FCC regulations, carriers must obtain express consent before adding charges. I did not provide such consent. I request a full refund of all unauthorized charges totaling $[Amount]. If this is not resolved within 14 days, I will file a complaint with the FCC and may contact my state attorney general.
AT&T's billing department responds faster to written disputes than phone calls. Written disputes create a paper trail. Mentioning the FCC creates urgency.
