My Child Spent $200 on Roblox Without Permission. Here's How I Got It Refunded.

My 8-year-old somehow figured out my credit card info and spent $200 on Robux. I only noticed when I got a fraud alert from my bank. I was shocked and angry.

I contacted Roblox support through their parent/guardian refund request form. I explained that the purchases were made by a minor without authorization. I provided proof that the card was mine.

Roblox has a specific refund process for unauthorized minor purchases. They approved the refund within two weeks. The money was credited back to my card.

The process was slower than I would have liked but it worked. Roblox processes these requests manually so it takes time.

Important: after the refund, Roblox banned my child's account. I had to contact them again to have it reinstated. They said they ban accounts involved in unauthorized purchases as a security measure.

Set up parental controls on your child's devices to prevent this. Most gaming platforms have spending limits you can enable.
