Rockstar Charged My Friend's Card for My Purchase. A Glitch Cost Us $80.

I bought GTA V on the Rockstar Store. The charge appeared on my friend's credit card, not mine. Somehow, Rockstar's payment system had stored his card from a purchase he made on my computer years ago. I was charged on his card without his knowledge.

My friend was not happy. I contacted Rockstar support. They said they could see the payment was made using a saved card and could not refund because the purchase was made on my account. I pointed out that the card did not belong to me.

Rockstar support asked for proof that the card belonged to my friend. He provided a redacted bank statement. Rockstar refunded the charge to his card within a week.

Clear your saved payment methods from shared computers. Rockstar and other stores store your card info by default and it can be used by anyone on that computer.
