I Wrote My Refund Email as a Fairy Tale. Once Upon a Time I Got My Money Back.
Once upon a time, there was a traveler who booked a hotel room for $250. The traveler arrived at the hotel at midnight. The hotel had no record of the booking. The traveler was tired and hungry. The hotel had no rooms available. The traveler sent an email to the booking platform written as a fairy tale, starting with "Once upon a time, a weary traveler booked a room at your fine establishment..." The booking platform's executive team responded: "We do not normally approve goodwill refunds, but your fairy tale touched our hearts. Full refund has been processed. May your future travels be less eventful." The $250 was refunded within 24 hours. Fairy tales, it turns out, have happy endings even in customer service.
