I Sent a Handwritten Letter for a Refund. It Took 3 Weeks but It Worked.
After months of failed email attempts with a stubborn company, I went old school. I wrote a handwritten letter on notebook paper. I explained my situation in simple terms. No threats, no legal citations. Just: "Dear [Company], I paid for a product that did not work. I have tried emailing five times. I would really appreciate a refund. Thank you for understanding." I mailed it to their corporate headquarters. Three weeks later, I received a check for the full amount with a handwritten note from their CEO: "Your letter was refreshingly honest. We processed your refund. I apologize for the delay." Handwritten letters are so rare in the modern world that they stand out. A CEO might never see your email. But someone screens the physical mail that arrives at their desk. A handwritten letter is more likely to reach the top.
